Is eavestrough cleaning the same as gutter cleaning?
Yes. Eavestrough is the term commonly used in Canada for what is often called a gutter elsewhere.
The service is essentially the same: removing debris from the roof drainage channel and making sure water can flow through the system and into the downspouts. Our gutter cleaning page covers the same work under the other name.
How often should eavestroughs be cleaned in Saanich?
It depends on your property and, especially, the trees around it.

Why are my eavestroughs full of fir needles?
Douglas firs can produce a lot of needle debris, particularly around homes with mature trees directly over the roof.
When those needles get wet, they can mat together and become difficult for rainwater to move through.
If you have large fir or cedar trees over your roof, your eavestroughs may need cleaning more often than a property with little tree coverage. Gutter guards can stretch the interval, though they do not remove the need entirely.
Can you clean eavestroughs that are full of moss?
Yes.
We can remove moss and organic buildup that's accumulated inside the eavestrough as part of the cleaning process.
If there's extensive moss growing across the roof itself, that's a separate issue and may require a different service.
